Axis Bank Q2 net up 60.4% to Rs 227.8 cr

Axis Bank has announced its second quarter numbers for the year ended 2008. The bank has posetd 60.4% growth in its net profit of Rs 227.8 crore for the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 142 crore in same quarter of last year.
Net interest income (NII) went up 61.2% to Rs 588.7 crore versus Rs 365.2 crore. Other income was at Rs 382 crore versus Rs 204 crore.
Provisions went up to Rs 114 crore from Rs 34 crore.
